We’re writing this as we wrap up a visit to the IMEX 2021 event in Las Vegas. If you’re not familiar with IMEX, it’s one of the largest conferences in the meetings industry. They call themselves “The heartbeat of the global business events community.” The attendees are primarily meeting planners and event organizers: the people who hire you. This year, there were 12,389 total participants from 150 countries.
We’ve been coming to IMEX for many years because we learn things about the meetings industry that we use to guide our own ship and that we use to help our friends who are speakers/trainers/coaches.
We took some notes on a few things we learned here that we think you’ll find helpful in making intentional plans for growing your business in 2022-23.
Whether you’re still hosting virtual corporate events or getting ready for in-person gatherings again, booking the right speaker is a vital part of the event planning process.
But how do you begin to choose the right speaker for your event? In the United States alone, there are 40,000 public speakers––and the industry is expected to grow by 4.1% every year until 2025.
Work Life Balance Speakers To Help Your Employee Love Life Again

Nothing kills a presenter’s credibility, frustrates attendees, and buries the message faster than a presenter who is hard to see, hard to hear, or who is struggling with basic technology.
This course will help you avoid all of those issues. If you implement the practical guidance in this course, your content and presentation skills will be able to shine through the screen and impact everyone in your virtual meeting. This course includes about 2 hours of materials, and then you’ll be prepared to schedule your assessment to get the Certified Virtual Presenter — or CVP — badge.
